Live from the world's biggest book stage 📚✨

Dear Reader,
If you’re a lover of stories, this week feels a bit like Christmas. Today marks the opening of the Frankfurt Book Fair (Frankfurter Buchmesse)—the world's largest, oldest, and most legendary gathering in the publishing industry.
While readers everywhere see polished final books on shelves, Frankfurt is where the actual magic happens behind closed doors:
- International Rights Trading: Translators, literary agents, and publishers from over 100 countries gather in massive halls to pitch, buy, and sell translation rights. (It's how books written in one corner of the world make their way across oceans to your nightstand!)
- 500+ Years of Tradition: The fair traces its roots all the way back to the 15th century, shortly after Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press just a few miles away in Mainz.
- The "Guest of Honor": Every year, a different country takes center stage to highlight its literary culture. This week, the spotlight is shining on Spain, bringing an incredible showcase of international storytelling to the floor.
Even when I'm working from my own writing desk thousands of miles away, knowing that millions of stories are being shared and discovered right now is pure inspiration for outlining my next project!
If you could pick any book to be translated into another language so a friend could read it, which one would you choose? Hit reply and tell me!
